Join us in celebration of World Fair Trade Day at the 1st Annual Fair Trade Film Festival! Our goal is to promote awareness and education of fair trade business practices.
The festival will take place Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 12pm-9pm at the locally owned Original Alamo Drafthouse Theater on South Lamar. Check out the details below. Also, to stay up to date on the latest news about the film festival, please go the official pages on Facebook here.

The festival consists of INDOOR and OUTDOOR events.
--Inside will be film screenings and expert-audience Q&A. We're screening one short film and three documentary films that deal with different aspects of fair trade. Scroll to bottom for a description of each one, along with links to more info. After each film, we will have Q&A panels with experts and community leaders on trade economics, social justice, and sustainability. SEE SCHEDULE BELOW
--Outdoor will be a FREE Global Bazaar with locally-owned vendors offering fair trade products. Local Burmese refugees will be selling their handmade bags and doing a weaving demonstration. The Global Bazaar will also feature local musicians playing international music throughout the day.
This would be the first film festival of its kind in Austin, Texas. There are three documentary films we'd like to screen that deal with different aspects of fair trade.
