The details: You must enter an Austin shipping address to be eligible for this promotion. Our system does not auto-check the shipping city at checkout, but our shipping department does before we ship the order. So please only use the promo code if you live in Austin. Thanks!
Shipping outside of Austin: We charge a flat rate of $4.95 for shipping and handling per order and use the United States Post Office (USPS) for all shipping. Look for promo codes from time to time where we will offer free shipping. Otherwise, move on over to Austin, and get set up with free shipping.
We use USPS to minimize the carbon footprint. USPS is already serving every address in America, every day. Why ask another truck to drive to your location when USPS is already going there anyways.
You should receive your order within 7 to 14 days. Depending on the products you select, you may receive multiple shipments from us as some of our artisans will ship directly from their warehouse to you. We will update you via e-mail when your item(s) have shipped with confirmation numbers.
Packaging: "Re-use and Re-cycle"
We will strive to re-use all packaging and shipping materials to be eco-friendly. So if you get a package or box that has a toaster on it or something else, don't be alarmed. We are simply re-using boxes to save some trees.
If we have to buy shipping supplies, we will buy only recycled boxes and biodegradable packing material.
Taxes
We charge sales tax for merchandise ordered on this Web site based on the applicable state sales tax rate and the location to which the order is being shipped. This applies to Texas only at this time. The current Sales Tax rate for Texas is 8.25%. The tax will automatically be added to your order upon checkout if your item is shipped to you in Texas; otherwise, there will be no tax.
Return Policy
If you are not completely satisfied with your Austin Local & Fair Trade purchase and wish to return it, please use the following procedure:
1. All items purchased from Austin Local and Fair Trade carry a 60 day return policy from the purchase date.
Wow...that is a generous return policy. We hope you'll love our products, but if if something does not work out, you have some time. We never liked the 7 or 14 day return policies you find on most other websites. You spend only a couple of days evaluating your purchase and that is wrong. All we ask is that you try to send the item back in re-saleable condition so we can try to re-sell it.
2. You must receive a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from us before you send the merchandise back to receive credit. Please e-mail info@austinlocalfairtrade.com for a RMA number and the reason you would like to return the product (ex. didn't fit right, etc.). Please include information such as the Invoice Number, Product, and Date Purchased, so we can retreive your order information.
3. After you receive a RMA number from us, then use the shipping carrier most convenient for you (however, it would be great if you used USPS...see above for reducing the carbon footprint), and send the package to the following address:

4. Upon receipt of your return, we will issue a credit to your card used for the original transaction, for the cost of the item including taxes. Shipping fees are non-refundable. Clearance items may not be returned or exchanged.
